So since I have gotten rave reviews on my food journal this week from the picture in this post, I will let you know a little bit about my little buddy that goes everywhere with me now.
First off, let me say that I did not come up with the idea to use this specific planner all on my own. I saw the planner (just the planner, didn’t really see inside, just the red outside) in a video on the channel listed below and decided to use the idea of a regular planner/diary type thing instead of an actual calorie journal because there never seems to be enough space, and they always want you to fill out a million other things besides calories. I simply do not have time for that. I know that all calories are not created equal and do not need to write down fat, fiber, etc, etc on every little thing.
From there I decided how to use it on my own terms with my calorie counting plan.
I really love quotes, they are super motivating to me!
I added a key for the meaning of my stickers, a quick reference guide for my weekly losses and some awesome tabs for the month I’m currently in.
I REALLY LOOOVE stickers. They’re so colorful and happy!
So my tracking started out like this…writing it all down with times, activity stickers, portions & calories.
This is what blank page looks like.
I wanted it to be a little more organized, so I created columns.
Then I labeled my columns accordingly,
and made a sidebar for activity plans, then as I complete it, I can check it off and feel accomplished!
You know from other posts that I track my water!
I love to highlight (super dork!), so I started highlighting the times I eat because I try to eat every 3 hrs or so.
I started tracking my weekly weigh-ins at the top of every Saturday.
I track my 5K practice run that I try to do every week so that I can see my progress.
Doing this helps me SO MUCH! I can see that some days I have amazing water intake…
…and some just decent water days.
Some days I have an amazing activity day…

…and some days I have not so great activity.
Some days my husband makes me have a day like this!
I obviously am in love with stickers that smile at me when I open my book and have something awesome to add to it! It’s like my own cheering section in the crowd that I always have in my bag.
This big baby below is my home reference because it is so huge! It was given to me a long time ago and is very old, but pretty great!
This little buddy I carry around with me in my bag for the quick reference. I know a lot of people pay for the membership to the website, but I am simply too dang cheap for that. This works just fine.
Last, but not least, you gotta have a great pen that you like! Office supply dorks unite! This one below is currently my fav.
**Please remember that my strict calorie counting is what is working FOR ME right now. I am not so systematic that it is causing a problem for me, hence me trying to make it fun. I like counting calories and do not feel restricted at all. In fact I feel that it gives me more freedom to eat whatever I want, as long as I track it. Please always do what is right for you and your body! :-)
Thanks for stopping by! Happy Friday to all you 5 day a week normal folks!
Thanks for Reading,
Monique

ReplyDeleteThat journal is impressive. I just don't know how you have time for it on top of everything else you're doing. But I'm glad it helps you stay so focused.
ReplyDeleteI love your journal! I love all your stickers and how nice it all looks!
ReplyDeleteI love all the stickers! I wish my handwriting was as nice as yours but I think I'm going to try this:) I love how you cheer yourself on and the way you are doing things obviously works for you:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. As always, dear one.
ReplyDeleteI popped on over from another blog after seeing a comment you made and am truly impressed by your journal! It takes such diligence to write in one of those and tend to it in such a loving way (which you clearly have). When I was an art major in college we had to keep a doodle and idea journal. I haven't kept one since then but seeing yours has sparked an interest once again. Thank you for that!
ReplyDeleteYou totally inspired me to buy this red journal, I love love the STICKERS, you are so awesome and organized! Love it!
ReplyDeleteAwesome journal idea! I love all the creativeness with the stickers and colors :)! Good luck on your journey! Pop over and say hi

I love how organized you are..I can be a slacker and I have days where I do not count my calories. I guess because I eat the same things every day. But I need to be better with it. I am going to be making some changes and when I do I am going to be starting fresh. So I will try and start then
ReplyDeleteI love this blog you're doing and I ESPECIALLY love your weight loss diary!!!!!!!! :D:D Thanks for linking me to your site -- and also for linking other people to mine. <3
ReplyDeleteI REALLY like this journal.....and although I am not tracking right now this can totally be adapted to any form of healthy living.
ReplyDeleteThe stickers make me SMILE!
I'm on a craft store run THIS WEEKEND!
