Happy Monday!

So here's the deal. This is MY blog, right? I can choose to right about whatever I want, right? Today is no about healthy eating or healthy food. I just wanna say that right now. It is however still along the central lines of taking care of myself first and foremost in life, and going after my dreams. Nobody really knows what is going on with me right now, but I can share with all of my blog friends, right? As you guys are all in other states, I take it that nobody will share with my mother-in-law, right? :)

As you may know if you  read any other my other tabs above on my site, My biggest dream is to be a nurse someday. I am very close to the end of all of my prerequisites for the program, and am very happy about that. However, some things went wrong this semester, and I have to sit out this fall. I was very sad for several days a few weeks ago, but decided to move on. And again, if you have read any of my other tabs up there, you will also know that I have PCOS and have fertility problems. SO....my husband and I decided that since I am officially free this fall, we may as well begin the process while I am unattached to more responsibilities and can be a little bit more calmer than usual since I have a little less stress.

That being said.....a little over two weeks ago we decided to go off the pill.....and my hormones are going crazy.

Last week I didn't know which emotion to feel when. I mean, I was a basket case. Literally. I wanted ice cream everyday, pizza, candy....and in the end, I would end up eating absolutely nothing. Yup, this is a side effect for me of being off the pill, one that I particularly like, but it is very real. I am WAAAAY less hungry than I have ever been in my life. I mean they say that sometimes being on the pill makes you gain weight, but never did I imagine that it affected my hunger!

So seriously, if I had known this sooooo many years earlier, I would have told my gynecologist that I would not use the pill as a part of my treatment and to take out my ovaries and freeze them for later a long freakin time ago!!!!

So, we will start with that for the week. Be ready for my posts to include these tid bits. I am sorry if this bothers you, seeing how it is not food related. BUT, I am still focusing on my weight loss, as the weight loss is supposedly a "cure" (I am using this term very loosely) for my disorder. Stay tuned for the food guys! I just decided that my blog would include bits and pieces of me as well.

My Question for You: I know this is personal, but I have no idea who you are (except for being my bloggy buddy:-)  and not very many people read my blog anyways ;-) Boy, would I love to know if I am alone over here in this observation....Are you on of off the pill, if off and have been ever on it, are you less hungry as well? Or is it just me, guys?

Blah....

Do you ever have one of those days where you just can't seem to get it together? Welcome to my version of that day...yesterday included, hence the non-posting activity from yesterday. I don't feel like eating, exercising, leaving my apartment, talking to anyone...just wanna climb right back into bed and pull the covers over my head. That's how I feel today. Luckily, I am off and am at liberty to do these things. I just need to disconnect from the computer for a day, ya know?! Sometimes following too many blogs (i.e. reading them everyday..sometimes several times a day) puts me in overload! I also get a little frustrated with progress...as sometimes it just seem like 50 or 60lbs is just so very far away from today. The task is daunting at times...especially when the scale stops moving completely. No more food and weight loss talk for today! See you folks tomorrow.

By the way, thanks for reading :)

Running

Hey Folks!

So I'm pretty sure that I never mentioned that a few months ago, I tried to start a running habit. I started out really slow, and then I got up to a run/walk 2 mile route and was SUPER proud of myself. What was happening was that I was not stretching, and I stand on my feet for most of my ten hour shift. The combination of those two eventually led to having Achilles tendinitis...not so bad that I couldn't walk, yet it hurt pretty bad. I ended up not doing anything for a couple months just to stay off of it so that I would not have to take off time from work. Eventually the back of my heel pain subsided from a combination of stretches and icing daily. I also had to buy new shoes and orthotics...which cost me a combined horrendous $250. Yep, you read that correctly. So once the pain had finally kinda gradually went away mostly, I decided that it was time to start running again. So today, I ran outside for a 1 mile run/walk. No timing or anything. I just wanted to see how it felt. I could only go the half mile without stopping, but at least I got out there. That was waaay awesome! I then immediately came home and iced and stretched. Hopefully this will go away completely soon, so I can at least get back to my measly 2 miles and not get worse!

My Question to You: Have you ever had an injury due to exercise? How did you handle not being able to do what you wanted?
